Where to Watch Super Bowl LVI in the AAC Area

It’s hard to believe it’s already February, but Super Bowl LVI is upon us! Whether you’re a die-hard Rams or Bengals fan, a casual football fan looking forward to a good match, or just really into 90s rap and in it for the halftime show – you’re probably looking for a great place to watch the game, have some greasy food, and get loud with other fans. Here are the best places (that we know of!) to crack open a good beer and take in the whole event. 

JB’S Severna Park

566 Governor Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146

JB’S is relatively new on the scene, but it’s already making waves as a great place to watch any kind of sports games. With countless screens all around the restaurant, you’ll be able to watch from any seat and any angle. Their Crushes, garlic knots, wings, and pizzas come highly recommended, and they even have a Super Bowl Watch Party where they’ll be giving away 2 new TVs and serving up some sweet deals on food and drinks.

The All American Steakhouse

139 Mitchells Chance Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037

First of all, if you haven’t come here for a casual-but-awesome steak, do it asap. However, for the Super Bowl, you’ll want to avoid the dining room (you can’t really see the screens from there) and stick to bar seating. They don’t call it a sports bar, they call it a “sports theater”, and it’s easy to see why - you step up to the bar, and you’re completely surrounded by giant TV screens. You couldn’t escape the game in there if you wanted to! The service is friendly, the food is delicious, and the ambiance is a step up from most other sports bars but still laid-back. They have a wide selection of beers, the wings are pretty great, the BBQ potato skins are awesome, and the bread + butter they bring to your table just melt in your mouth.

The Hideaway

1439 Odenton Rd, Odenton, MD 21113

The Hideaway is probably the least-secret “local secret”, mostly due to the fact that it’s just too great to keep quiet about. A popular choice for watching football games, there are plenty of TVs around, but not so many that any non-fans in your group will feel overwhelmed. The atmosphere is casual, friendly, and lively, so you’re guaranteed to have fun. The wings are literally award-winning, and it’s easy to see why - they’re hands-down the best things on the menu, no matter which rub or homemade sauce you go with. Though there aren’t any Super Bowl events or deals listed on their website, they’re very likely to have some kind of festivities and/or deal going on, so it’s definitely worth a visit!

The Greene Turtle

This one shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone - pretty much any Maryland native can tell you that the Greene Turtle is a staple in the sports bar scene. If you’re looking for simple, fun, no-frills food and drinks along with lots of viewing options for the game, you can’t lose at any of the local chain’s many locations. The crab cakes and crab dip get the stamp of approval from locals, and the ambiance is always spirited on game days. 

Mother’s

969 Ritchie Highway, Arnold, MD 21012

This Arnold gem is well-loved and a game day favorite for a lot of AAC residents. The bar has a classic sports bar feel, but the decor and menu bring it up a notch from others like it. If their abundance of HD TVs aren’t exciting enough for your Super Bowl experience, then maybe their 80” projector screen will be right up your alley! If you’re looking to bring your family out for the occasion, less enthusiastic visitors will be easily appeased with menu items like rib stew, bread pudding beignets, and homemade ice cream. Their bar servings are just as diverse - 16 beers on tap, 100+ bottled and canned beers, and some great cocktails (the cider sangria is comes recommended!). They pride themselves on maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere, so this is just right for a family outing.
